Hey friends, what's up?? As you know, the fasting month has started and you can see that your muslim friends are fasting. In the Holy Qur'an it states;


O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint. (Yusuf Ali, 2:183) (Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will,- it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew. (Yusuf Ali, 2:184) Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful. (Yusuf Ali, 2:185)

Its a free-for-all, and we've got a pool of people talented in different areas of study, and everyone of us, I'm sure, have a certain subject we're particually good in or particually weak; and in attending the sessions, I'm sure all of us can stand to benefit.

Its the last leg of the race and as we all chiong to the finish line(Vincent, stop running directly in front of me), let us all remember that it's gonna be one helluva PARTAYYYYYY after it all, and that there are no forests in the Himalayas mountains.

Apparently Y2, your statement and perception of what im doing is rather superficial and biased. If copyright issues were really such a large matter in this class blog, all pictures here are copyrighted as none have been seeked consent of, and thus everyone would have violated the law, having to go to.. court? lol. Your statement here is as good as saying this to somewhat an extent:

Hmm wait, the chemistry textbook is copyrighted and i can't write out notes for my personal use cause its copyrighted.

Potassium reacts explosively in cold water. Enough heat is produced to cause the hydrogen gas to burn in a lilac flame.

Hello everyone;
in lieu of the recent fad of uploading embrassing photos, let me, after the numerous (horrible) Infocomm Club trainings, give you a few pointers on taking pictures.

Number1: When taking photos, always have a specific goal. Examine the photo;

What we do see very clearly in this picture, is a subject, the main focus of the picture.

Here, the subject is drenched in sweat, in a rather unflattering photo but yet, photographers may beg to differ. This photograph captures essence and style, the purpose of the photo and event; but obviously, not that of best interest to the subject.

Number2: If taking shots of human spirit and character, always take candid shots.

Posed pictures, especially those that show people doing something usually look really fake. Try to have a distinction, be it lighting or focus to enhance the attention to the main subject.

Candid shots always capture much more, as the subject is comfortable in his surroundings, and even the weird hand signs come naturally.

Well thats basically what you need to know, and perhaps maybe just really good anti-shake technology in your camera. But before we leave, let us practice our new found skills.

What is so terrible about the picture below?

(1) This posed picture looks rather out of place, with only one poser right in the center, and the rest rather ignorant of the camera.
(2) No obvious subject. Mdm Mariam takes up half the photo but yet she is blurred. There are too much subjects in this picture, making it hard to focus.
(3) ...but what you do focus on, is absolutely revolting.
